2010 WVPEC Teacher Job Fair

The 2010 WVPEC Teacher Job Fair will be held on Fri. Feb. 5 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Sat. Feb. 6 from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Salem Civic Center (click here for directions) .  Representatives from 18 southwest/western Virginia school divisions will be there accepting our uniform job application (Applicants are strongly encouraged to fill out the application in advance and bring multiple copies to distribute in person at the job fair). Due to some school divisions going paperless, applicants may be asked to go to the school division to file an online application.

This job fair is specifically for college seniors and graduate students enrolled in teacher preparation programs, Career Switchers, teachers interested in relocating to this area and people with a B.S. degree (not licensed to teach) who seek a career in teaching (see Career Switcher information for details).

NOTE:  Computer Registration will be on-site. There is a $10 registration fee required. (NO advance registration, as in the past).

The 2009 Job Fair attracted over 564 job-seekers from 15 different states and Career Switcher information seminars attracted over 40 potential teachers.  After each year's job fair, participating school divisions receive a searchable database with contact information and qualifications of those who attended the fair.
