The 2012 WVPEC Teacher Job Fair will be held on Fri. Feb. 3 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Sat. Feb. 4 from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Salem Civic Center (click here for directions) .  Representatives from 18 southwest/western Virginia school divisions will be speaking with applicants.  Some divisions will accept our uniform job application; others may require you to submit your application electronically through their HR website; and some may accept both.  (Applicants are strongly encouraged to fill out the uniform job application in advance and bring multiple copies to distribute in person at the Job Fair, but please be aware that there are divisions that will require you to submit an online application prior to being considered for future employment.)

This Job Fair is beneficial to college seniors and graduate students enrolled in teacher preparation programs, applicants holding a Provisional (Career Switcher) License, and teachers interested in relocating to this area. 

Did you know ~ approximately 500 teaching positions (in many content areas) were filled by the divisions in attendance during the 2011-2012 school year?  So, take this opportunity to introduce yourself and make a lasting impression as school divisions consider applications to fill 2012-2013 teaching positions!  

Inclement Weather:

In the event the 2012 Job Fair requires rescheduling due to “inclement weather,” a contingency plan has been put into place.  If rescheduled, the 2012 Job Fair will be moved to February 10 and 11 and will be held at our offices (6226 University Park Drive, Radford, Virginia).  Should the forecast become questionable, please check our voicemail (540-831-6399) for updates.
